LITTLE BLACK DRESS

_DSC8335

This week I was trying to choose a dress for a special event and of course I went for the classic little black dress…you can’t go wrong with it.  This  Tadashi Shoji dress I found on Macktak Mart is beautiful.  It has an elegant cut and  is made from this amazing material which somehow make you look one size slimmer .We all want to have a dress like that in our wardrobe :)

In my previous few posts I focused on more sporty and funky looks so when I found this black dress  I thought it was time to break the trend and introduce something more classic and elegant.  It lends itself to many occasions as diverse as a dinner at Mylos in midtown NYC and a crazy party at the rooftop terrace at Dream hotel downtown.  Dress-up or dress-down, the little black dress makes you look great. Let me know what you think?

Love K,

Punk

_DSC5767-2Hi there,

Think about the 70s in London and NY.  The Clash, the Sex Pistols and the Ramones ruled back then.

The punk movement created a lot of controversy in the 70s with the look and the attitude.  It continued to do so this past week at the punk-themed Met Ball in NY.  Celebrities caused controversy with comments, outfits, attires and of course attitude and the fall our continues.

I had to put together a very timely punk post.  See how you can transport yourself back to that era with clothes from your normal wardrobe.  I am really into the punk style and love combining the scruffy look with a touch of sophistication.

Anarchy rules, K.

BRIGHT

_DSC5590

Happy weekend everyone,

I know you heard this from me before but the spring in NYC is just beautiful.  Thinking of today’s post, I had a few other ideas to share with you but I could not resist something that brings out the bright colors in nature.

I am sure you know already that bright colors have been very popular recently. I have decided to wear this outfit with my 60′s style shoes for the retro look which I will have more coming up in the next few posts. Let me know what do you think?

FLORAL

_DSC5381-2Hope everyone is  enjoying their weekend! This is my first spring in this city and I have to say it is amazing! The temperature its so perfect and those cute blooming trees around every  single block just look magical between the skyscrapers!

Finally…My two favorite trends, floral and the midriff have arrived.  Perfect for the spring in the big city.  At the same make sure the look is balanced.  Don’t show more than 2-3 inches of belly because  it may look too much:).  Feel free to combine it with lose pants for the relaxed and easy look.

Enjoy the spring.

Love, K.
